The SYPG welcomes all young professionals and students in their 20’s and provides the opportunity for young professionals to form valuable connections, develop the essential skills and contacts vital to succeed in their careers.

Our activities bring together a wide range of young professionals in a relaxed setting, often with a guest speaker who is an inspirational young person doing great things with their career.

Starting a career can be challenging enough but you also need to have good interpersonal skills and the contacts to get ahead and stand out.  It is much easier to make contacts now when a career is starting out and you have more in common with your peers, than in a few years time when you are speaking a different professional language!

About the SYPG

We are unique among young professional groups as we bring together the full spectrum of professions and sectors and work collaboratively with other young professional groups.  It also provides the ideal environment to develop confident interpersonal skills and be inspired by high achieving young professionals and business people.

Many employers use the SYPG as a way to enhance these essential skills in their staff.

It also:

• offers training in essential interpersonal and networking skills
• our events are boutique in style: the best venues, live music and we make sure everyone feel welcome and involved
• we work with a wide range of young professional groups in the region to ensure the most diverse range of professions
• presents inspiring young professionals to share their experiences and insights
• a support environment to foster confidence and help you make connections
• we also offer members of Schmooze the opportunity to send their junior colleagues to SYPG events to give them the opportunity to hone their networking and interpersonal skills, gain confidence and gain essential career skills.

Get Involved

You don't have to be a member to attend SYPG events, you are welcome to attend the Monthly Schmooze on a casual basis, just pay the $30 cover charge which includes all drinks, nibbles etc, or its only $20 for Uni Students.

We always interested in hearing from people wanting to volunteer a few hours a week and serve on the SYPG Council who develop and run the SYPG's program- great fun and fantastic experience!
