Schmooze Professional

This branch's activities is for organisations or individuals wanting to:

          • promote their expertise, events, services or products
          • develop their professional skills or their businesses
          • network with other outgoing professionals from a wide range of organisations.

The range of opportunities membership offers provides for a very targeted and personalised way to introduce yourself to fellow professionals in a wide range of sectors. 

The majority of members in this branch are senior managers or owners of their own company over 35.

You can also invest in an Associate membership for additional colleagues from your organisation, or perhaps a Young Professional membership to enable younger colleagues to polish their interpersonal skills, gain valuable connections and learn amongst their peers.

The Professional Branch was the first part of Schmooze to be established in 2003, and now has over 200 organisations represented in its ranks (as of July 2009) from a wide range of professions representing including government, PR, media, design, film-making, training and education, photography, entreprenuers, financial and professional services, the arts and not for profit sector.

Only 250 organisations can be members of this branch of Schmooze at any one time to ensure personalised service.

Activities

Each month, except December,  we host the following actitivies:

  • The Monthly Schmooze
  • Professional Development Workshop- particulary focused in 2010 on skills and insights for small business owners
  • Member Only Interest Groups for: Sustainability, Marketing & Communications, Small Business Owners and Leadership
  • Networking Lunch or Dinner (including a table at the National Press Club Addresses)

    In addition, members are often invited to events hosted by other members or kindred organisations at special rates.

Event Costs

Members attend our events for free, whilst non-members are welcome to attend on a casual fee basis. 

Opportunities

Members can take advantage of Schmooze as an excellent means to promote their expertise, services or venues in several ways including:

  • showcasing their expertise through professional development events
  • access to the online members contacts database which provides the contact details and services the organisation offers
  • sponsoring or supporting our activities and events
  • participating in the range of professional or social networking events
  • advertising their events or services on the website 
  • making special offers to members
  • develop their younger staff by getting them involved in our young professional branch: the SYPG 
  • participate in our interest groups,
