Schmooze Professional

This is the oldest part of Schmooze and was established in 2003 to provide a collaborative environment for professional and business networking. 

The branch offers a range of opportunities for organisations or individuals wanting to:

  • promote their expertise, events, services or products
  • develop their professional skills or their businesses
  • network with other outgoing professionals and business people from a wide range of organisations
  • access business referrals and enjoy a range of exclusive services and benefits.

The majority of our members are senior managers or owners of their own company aged over 35, and you can meet some of them here. We have now over 300 organisations represented in its ranks (as of June  2010) from a wide range of professions representing including government, professional services, marketing, media, design, film-making, training and education, photography, entreprenuers, the arts and not for profit sector.

Prospective members also have the opportunity to meet with us to be advised on the best way to further their professional and business goals through Schmooze.

Members also enjoy business referrals through Schmooze as opportunities arise, and we only use members for our presenters, venues and services.

Activities

Each month, except December, we host the following actitivies:

  • The Monthly Schmooze
  • Professional Development Workshop- particulary focused in 2010 on skills and insights for small business owners
  • Member Only Interest Groups for: Sustainability, Marketing & Communications, Small Business Owners and Leadership
  • In addition, members are often invited to events hosted by other members or kindred organisations at special rates.

Members attend our Schmooze hosted events for free, whilst non-members are welcome to attend on a casual fee basis of $55 per person.  Members also enjoy discounted rates at events hosted by other groups.

Opportunities

Members can take advantage of Schmooze as an excellent means to promote their businesses, expertise, services or venues in several ways including:

  • showcasing their expertise through professional development events
  • access to the online members contacts database which provides the contact details and services the organisation offers
  • sponsoring or supporting our activities and events
  • participating in the range of professional, business or social networking events
  • advertising their events or services on the website 
  • making special offers to members
  • develop their younger staff by getting them involved in our young professional branch: the SYPG 
  • participate in our interest groups,

Conditions apply: you must be genuinely interested in joining, and if you don't join us within two weeks of coming as our guest, we'll invoice you for a casual guest entry: $55 incl GST per person.
