Our series of Professional Development Workshops are open to anyone interested in gaining practical skills and expert insights for small business. 

Each month a different presenter will explore a key aspect of running your own business, and the events will provide the opportunity to network with other small business owners, or those thinking about starting a business.

There will opportunities for questions and discussion following the presentation and refreshments are included. 


The Secret of Selling to Government: FULLY BOOKED

This year, the federal government will spend BILLIONS of dollars on products and services from the private sector. Do you want a piece of the pie?

While the Federal government market can be pretty imposing, if a company perseveres and succeeds, it can result in significant, long-term, and reliable revenue streams.

Learning Outcomes
This session will provide an overview of the key factors in driving successful government sales such as understanding the sales cycle, developing an awareness of the ins and outs of government procurement processes, the importance of managing and nurturing networks, and pitching benefits based on the business driver of ‘risk’.


Presenter

Rick Bushell – Owner of Four Streams Consulting and TenderBytes.

Rick is an experienced Business Development Manager and has helped companies large and small improve their approach to sales and ultimately grow their business. Rick is a firm believer that sales success is based on fundamentals that should underpin any career – process, passion, creative thinking and flair.

Four Streams Consulting is a collective of Senior Business Development professionals that provide the full range of sales execution and sales strategy service needs (from low level sales activity through to high level sales strategy and mentoring). While we work with clients in markets outside of Canberra, our speciality is in Business Development for organisations wanting to deal with the Australian Federal Government.

TenderBytes is a successful tender notification newsletter that focuses on technology tenders in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. TenderBytes has developed a subscriber base of over 5000 Business Owners and Sales Executives with a common interest in finding business opportunities through technology-based tenders.
