Each member experience is unique and we tailor your membership through a mix of events, introductions and services to ensure you achieve your business and professional goals.

By joining Schmooze you become part of a supportive and diverse community of small and medium business owners, senior managers, associations, not-for-profit groups, government departments, young professionals and entrepreneurs

Members enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

            • Free attendance at several events each month including workshops, business lunches and networking soirees.
            • Have your expertise and events promoted through our social media eNews and website calendar
            • The support of a members relations manager to help ensure you get the most of your membership

            • Membership gives you access to all our events for free anywhere

FIRST STEPS

To start your Schmooze journey, we suggest you take these steps:

  • Subscribe to our eNews to get in the loop
  • Tune into our social media channels to hear more about what our members and we're up to
  • Attend an event as a casual paying guest
  • Work out some ideas about what you'd like to get from your membership
  • Contact us to arrange a personal consultation on how we can support you as a member
  • Join!

We like to meet each new member personally to get to know them and advise them on how best to make the most of their membership. Just email us at info@schmooze.net.au to arrange either a phone or face to face consultation.

HOW TO JOIN 

To join Schmooze is a simple process:

  • Fill in the online application form
  • Pay for your membership
  • Once your paid your membership will commence
  • We'll contact you, and offer any advice you may need to make the most of your membership including a meeting with one of Members Relations Managers team to give you a short orientation and understand what you'd like to get from your membership.

membership packages

Membership enables you to promote your services, events, and expertise using our website, leverage our social media, eNews, as well as attend several events each month for free.

We offer four packages, all with the same benefits and services:

  • Professional (1-5 people) 6 or 12 months
  • Young Professional (1 person) 6 or 12 months
  • Associate (1-5 people) 6 or 12 months
  • Start-Up (one person)  3 months -one time only

Professional

Choose this option if you are a company, government agency, professional association or sole trader. 

This Package is very flexible as it allows you to share the membership up to 5 full time colleagues who are all considered members.

  • You are also eligible to receive business referrals and leads
  • Advertise via this website, our social media and weekly eNews
  • Enjoy a range of exclusive member services to connect with the right people
  • Have your profile by being selected as a Featured Member of the Week, featured blog and member notices
  • Be invited to be a guest speaker in our program to showcase your expertise
  • You and your colleagues can attend several Schmooze hosted events for free each month
  • Attend other special events and workshop at cost price
  • Be listed in our members profile database on the website for business opportunities and referrals
  • Have our support to create a targeted campaign to engage your target audience. 
  • 6 months membership is $555 and 12 months $750 incl GST

Young Professional

This package is for individuals 30 and under and has all the inclusions of the Professional Package

  • This membership only applies to one person under 30
  • 6 months membership is $350 for 6 months and 12 months $555 incl GST

Associate

This Package has the same inclusions and benefits of the Professional Package, and is open to:

  • Registered Charities, Community, Arts and Not-for-Profit organisations
  • Based in rural/regional Australia, or Tasmania who want to advertise your business and events through Schmooze
  • Interstate offices of current Professional members
  • 6 months membership is $350 for 6 months and 12 months $555 incl GST

Start-Up

This Package is for sole traders whose business is less than a year old and includes:

  • 3 month's full Professional membership (one time only- then renew on one of the Packages above)
  • Access to all the Schmooze member benefits and services
  • Members-only Discussion group events to network, share ideas and workshop challenges in a supportive peer group
  • Investment: $149.00 incl GST

Installment PAYMENTS

  • Companies and organisations can also pay for their memberships in three equal installments for 12 month packages
  • Sole traders and young professionals - we offer monthly installments (EFT only) for the Professional or Young Professional package options for 6 or 12 month commitment.  Please enquire when applying or renewing, these are 6 or 12 equal payments due each month.
  • Please note that you need to pay for your installments on time to ensure your membership continues and is not suspended.

 We want our members to get value from their membership so we occasionally put a pause on accepting certain sectors as members.

This makes sure we don't have too many of the same sort of specialist.

The following lists the number of memberships available, or if we're not accepting applications:

  • Sorry, we do not accept members of BNI as members or guests at Schmooze (read our FAQs here)
  • Graphic/Creative Design: 3 new members (Canberra only)
  • Photography: 3 members (Canberra only)
  • Financial Services: 1 member (Canberra only)
  • Life/Business Coaches: 2 member (Canberra Only) /  2 Members (Melbourne)
  • Recruitment Sector: 3 members  (Canberra only)
  • Hospitality: 3 new members (Canberra only)
