The Schmooze is a welcoming and collaborative environment that provides you with the opportunity to expand your range of contacts, raise your company profile, market your services and events and learn business and interpersonal skills.

Some of the reasons people join Schmooze are to:

HOW TO JOIN

To join Schmooze is a simple process:

  • Fill in the online application form
  • Pay for your membership
  • Once your paid you'll have access to the resources in the Members Lounge and your membership will commence
  • We'll contact you, and offer any advice you may need to make the most of your membership including a meeting with one of Members Relations Managers team  to give you a short orientation about Schmooze and get acquainted.

which membership package suits me?

We aim to offer exceptional value in our membership packages, and if you attended all our events over 12 months the total value of your experience would be over $2500 per location, plus the exclusive benefits, online resources, complimentary Guest Passes and the services we provide.

Professional: Choose this option if want to promote your services, events, and expertise using our website, social media, and news, as well as attend our full program of Schmooze-hosted events.

  • You are also eligible to receive business referrals and leads, plus guest speaking opportunities.
  • This Package is very flexible as it allows you to share the membership up to five full time colleagues who are all considered members.
  • It also allows your offices in other locations to join at a special Associate rate.
  • You and your colleagues can attend all Schmooze hosted events for free. 

Social: Choose this package if you just want to socialise, make some friends and enjoy the range of membership benefits.

  • Attend the Monthly Schmooze’s for free with your nominated partner in any location
  • This membership can be shared with a nominated partner or family member.
  • You can also attend other Schmooze events, like our seminars and workshops at discounted rates.
  • But note, you can't advertise your organisation via Schmooze or use us for promotional/marketing purposes.

Young Professional:  This package is for 30’s who want full access to all our program not just young professional events

  • The package has all the inclusions as per the Professional Package
  • This membership only applies to one person under 30

Associate: This Package has the same inclusions and benefits as the Professional Package, and is open to:

  • Registered Charities, Community and Not-for-Profit organisations
  • Based in rural Australia and want to advertise your business and events through Schmooze, but not likely to attend our events.
  • Interstate offices of current Professional members
  • Commitees of Young Professional organisations (it is shared between the members)
  • Additional staff of current members (up to five full-time staff from the same organisation per package)

Referral Reward PROGRAM

If you introduce 3 new members (not renewing) to us you'll receive a 6 month's Professional package with our compliments. Existing members will receive a bonus six months membership to their current one when it expires. All your colleagues need to do is put your name in the Referral field on the application form.

TRY US FIRST

If you are interested in joining and want to try us first please contact us to purchase a casual Guest Pass ($55 each) to one of our events. On arrival, one of our team will introduce you about to ensure you feel welcome and meet some of our regulars. We'll get in touch after the event to see if we can assist you with membership options. 

You don't need to be a member to attend our events and can pay as you go as your prefer, though we do have member only events, benefits and services.

If you are not happy we will give you a refund

If you are unsatisfied with your Schmooze membership within 30 days of your membership confirmation email, we will send you a pro-rata refund.

We keep an eye on the mix of members

Note: in 2012 we'll be capping the number of members in the ACT region to 500 organisations to ensure we maintain our high level of personalised service.

We want our members to get value from their membership so we occasionally put a pause on accepting certain sectors as members. This makes sure we don't have too many of the same sort of specialist member.

Currently we are not accepting applications from the following sectors and organisations, or have space for a limited number of the following:

  • Sorry, we do not accept members of BNI as members or guests at Schmooze
  • Graphic Design: 2 (Canberra only)
  • Financial Services: 3 members (Canberra only)
  • Life/Business Coaches: 2 members (Canberra only)
  • Recruitment Sector: 2 members (Canberra only)
  • Restaurant/ Bar: 2 members (Canberra only)

If this applies to you, we would still love to hear from you, just contact us and we will put you on our wait list for when a spot comes up.
