Based in Australia, Schmooze was established in 2003 by its founder and owner, Phillip Jones who is a Canberra consultant and social entrepreneur, with the idea of fostering collaboration between professionals in a neutral, informal and positive environment.
It has since evolved into one of the most innovative and dynamic professional and business communities in Australia.
Not your typical business networking group, Schmooze has embedded effective marketing and networking tools and strategies to foster great connections, inspire our members and guests, and create opportunities for them.
The atmosphere is welcoming, personalised and sophisticated and purposely informal to make it easy for people to connect.
We don't like the hard-sell, business referral model of networking, and believe that business should be based oh relationships first and business later, and so we create the space to make that possible.
We have supported charities such as the RSPCA, Lifeline, Palliative Care Society, L'Arche Geneserat, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, SnowyHydro Southcare Helicopter Service, The Centenary of Canberra, The Women's Hospital Melbourne and many more with our featured cause of the month program.
We also offer free advertising for any charity fundraising event on our website and enews.
Comprehensive Event Program
Each year we host over 80 events with some 3000 people attending our events.
Our program ranges from intimate dinners and lunches, seminars for young professionals, to cocktail functions for over 100 people.
Schmooze also provides a platform for its members to promote their own events and expertise, as well as provide a range of services to facilitate introductions and targeted business development opportunities, but all done in a personalised manner. They can also leverage our range of online communication channels including social media to raise their profile and engage their target markets.
We also offer expert event management services and networking training workshops.
